The Food Service Department here at Arlington School is committed to providing appetizing meals while adhering to the American Dietary Guidelines that are specified by the national School Lunch and Breakfast programs. Menus are planned to ensure that when averaged over a week, meals comply with the American Dietary Guidelines for total fat, saturated fat and calories.

All district cafeterias operate under and offer versus serve method. This simply means that students are offered full meals in accordance with USDA requirements but have the option of refusing part of the meal. This allows the child to take only the food items that they will eat and refuse the food items that they would discard. The student is required to take at least 3 full portions of 5 different food items (one of which must be a fruit or vegetable) at lunch and 3 of 4 at breakfast. Students are allowed only one portion of the main entree; however, they may request larger portion sizes of vegetables, fruits and starches. You are invited to purchase a meal and eat breakfast or lunch with your child. Please be advised that it is against USDA regulations that an adult eat from a student tray. An adult must purchase his or her own meal. Please check in at the school office to obtain a Visitor Pass before eating with your student. Pricing is as follows; Adult/Guest breakfast $3.00 and Lunch $4.oo. You can pay in advance or at the school with Mrs. Coronado @ (623) 386-2031 X 246

Here at Arlington Elementary School, we are a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school. This program allows high-poverty schools to eliminate the administrative burden of school meal applications, still serve breakfast and lunch at no charge to all students so that they can be fueled and ready to learn. Schools participating in the CEP offer both breakfast and lunch at no charge to all students. Schools that have implemented the CEP have experienced striking increases in school meal participation and many reported improved attendances.
